[BLOG] BOOM HAH HAH! BOOM HAH!

Annyeong everyone!

Hope that life, work, school and family are doing well. Anyways, I can’t believe that its already been more than a week since our trip to Orlando and I wish I were still there. I can honestly say that I had a really good time away from South Florida and WORK. Even if it was just for the weekend, it felt good to get away from the usual mess you deal with on a daily basis and see something new. I’m actually glad that I pushed myself to go see Miyavi. I find it funny that I enjoyed this performance while last year during his Atlanta visit I was just okay with it. Thank god I got into JROCK when I did! I was jammin! I know that might not seem like such a big deal but to those who know me, you all know that I’m not with the crowd participation.

Anyways, Miyavi had so much energy on stage and the way he interacts with the crowd showed how grateful he was to the fans for their support. His English was honestly adorable although at times it was a little difficult to understand but who cares! I loved meeting a few of the APOPAddicts at the show who turned out to be such cool people.

Thanks to Ani Ceris for hanging out with us! Girl, I’m hoping Miyavi goes back to Japan and tells his PSC boys to come on over. (You know I’m talking about The GazettE). Orlando was pretty, a bit of that Southern hospitality feel to it with the moss hanging off the trees and the big verandas...‘There will be a barbecue at 12 Oaks tonight’. Ana would have loved it! Overall it was a nice weekend and I’m glad I got to share it with Cynth and DoriChan.

RAWR!

[BLOG] Just a few post-Thanksgiving thoughts...By: Betty

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I spent my Thanksgiving with my paternal aunts and cousins who cooked up Turkey and some pork. And there is ALWAYS pork served at any family get together. Overall, I had a good Thanksgiving. The only downside was that my sister is in New York. Miss you Steph!

So, I don’t really have much to write about. Because the holiday season is starting I’ve had little time for anything except work, work and work. At the moment, I’m trying to get ready for work on BLACK FRIDAY! I don’t mind working today because I honestly enjoy helping people its the ones with the nasty attitudes that make my job HELL!!! If you know that the stores are going to be Chaotic today and you’re someone with little to no patience then shopping in a crowded mall is not the best thing for you. And I would really appreciate it if you didn’t fling your frustration at me. MILLIONS of people are out shopping today so expect to wait in line for more than five, ten or even fifteen minutes! Look at this, I’m not even at work and already I’m getting irritated just thinking about it. All I can hope for is that I’ll get out of work before four in the morning, LOL. And I’m being serious.

For those who have to work on BLACK FRIDAY and to those who have been up before dawn to be the first few in line...FIGHTING!

I know this was a short blog but I really don’t have much to write about. I did find a new Visual Kei band which will be my fling for some week. I was going to discuss the recent attack by North Korea on South Korea but since we’re still in a festive mood, I decided not to depress you all by going into a deep discussion about it. *My deepest sympathy goes out to the victims of these attacks and their families.

I honestly believe that there will never be peace on the peninsula until the Kim family is removed from their seat of power. When you’ve had absolute power over an entire country for sixty years then its doubtful that Kim Jong Il and his family will give that up easily. Unification is a joke to them. Ah well, hopefully matters can be resolved before any more people are hurt or young soldiers are ordered to defend their borders in battle. I would be glad to hear your opinions on the matter. I think open discussions are a true sign of a free nation. *I sound like such an activist LOL!

Anyways, that’s it! Remember, you can always post a reply or if you’re a more private person then email me or Cyn or Ana. We love to receive emails and messages from you all. And I promise to check my own more often LOL! Well, see you all on Twitter or Livejournal or Facebook.

Oh, and a huge THANK YOU for reading this and listening to the show!!!

[Blog] Nonsense by Betty

Annyeonghaseyo,

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. As for me, its been depressing and just disappointing. Now, I know a few others who are in more difficult situations than I am (whether it be work, home or school) and so I would like to apologize if I’m whining but I just felt like venting and also because Cynth has asked me to post a blog, so here goes…

[Blog] Let's talk about Dramas! by: Betty

Annyeong!

Yes Betty is alive and well. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope you all enjoyed this week’s show.
Now, Cyn City has asked that this week I make a post and it can be about any topic that I feel like discussing. So, since a few of my dramas have ended in the past few weeks, most recently, My Fair Lady (Loved it!). I have decided that I will dedicate this post to the Asian Dramas and the actors we fell in love with.

For example, my favorite drama of all time is ‘My Girl’ with Lee Jun Ki and I am currently watching, ‘Temptation of an Angel’, ‘Queen Seon-Deok', ‘Hot Blood’ and 'IRIS'.
Do you remember your very first drama? Do you have a favorite drama? What drama are you currently watching?
Let me know, our taste in dramas might be similar (If you like Lee Jun Ki and super romantic-mushy-crying dramas like me, lol).

You can post videos, pics and what not to show love for your fav drama! Have Fun!
Kimchi kisses,
Betty
Because it wouldn't be Betty's post without a pic of Lee Jun KIIIIIIIII!
I love this careless, rugged look.

For Cyn City, LMAO! (You started it!)

[Mod] We've been pimped and it feels so good

Ohhh what’s that I see?? *looks far and deep* oh that’s just us being pimped out by the most awesomest (ya I made up a word and WHAT!) blogger on this side of jpop & kpop.
Icecapades has a site that we always love to pimp out on the show Floating Stars and she has a series going on about other bloggers that are known on the nets. It’s where you can get to know them better. Well your ho’s, (yes us ho’s at APOPA) have been pimped out by her in her lastest “Come To Play” series on her website.
She made us fill out this questionnaire a few weeks back and the questions were hilarious. I think our answers came out great as well. She gave us much, much, love and we wuv her for that.
So if you want to get to know the APOPA girls just a little bit better go hit up Floatings Stars and read it and of course comment on it. You BETTER also bookmark her page because she’s an awesome blogger who comments on all things kpop & jpop. I will hunt u down if you don’t bookmark her!!!
Oh btw to all the haters…

Tis all from NY/NJ,

[About] Betty

Birthday: (I’m going to be honest) December 16, 1988
*CynCity: Fool, you were born in 1984.
*Me: Uhm, excuse me...but whose bio is this?
*CynCity: Yours but don’t lie to the ppl!
*AnaPana: (Shakes her head while playing Final Fantasy)
*Me: Whatever...Can I continue?
*CynCity: We’re waiting on you. Go...

Annyeonghaseyo!

To all the newcomers, Welcome to APOPA!

You’ll more than likely recognize me as the random giggling you hear in the background while everyone else is talking. I’m very silly and can be immature but its all just for laughs. I’m somewhat shy and rarely speak but when I do its for the Korean Word, a weekly segment in which I teach random words or phrases in Korean. I also give the JROCK news (one of my favorite segments)!

Now on to the good stuff! I fell into Asian Pop while watching Korean variety shows and dramas. I’m a geek for all things historical so its no surprise that what attracted me the most were the Historical dramas. I began to listen to the OST and that’s how I got into KPOP. It was a total shock for me to learn that Cyn City was also interested in Asian culture and through her and Dori-Chan (a close friend who makes special appearances) I jumped into JPOP and was introduced to Johnny’s. It was Cyn City who first mentioned the idea of a podcast show about Japanese and Korean entertainment. In the beginning I was hesitant to participate but both Cyn and Ana convinced me (or my sushi might have been drugged) to join in.
And while I played and skipped merrily in the bubblegum pop world of KPOP it was Ana Pana who led me into that dark and sinister world of JROCK/Visual Kei and I’ve never been happier. It’s all about The GazettE!

And now for some more random info about ME. My real name is Beatriz Rodriguez and I was born in New York City. Cyn and I are cousins, I met Ana in middle school and a year ago I was introduced to Dori-Chan. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University and hope to ONE DAY become an Oncologist lol. I dream of visiting South Korea and meeting Lee Jun Ki (actor in the Army until 2012) and the cast of 1 Night 2 Days and then take the ferry over to Japan and see The GazettE live! Did I mention how much I love the GazettE? Its real and its deep.

Anyways, I do enjoy receiving messages from the listeners so please feel free to email or tweet me some news. If you ever have any suggestions for the Korean word or any comments about the show, send us an email. We love to hear from you all!

I want to say THANK YOU to all our past listeners who have stuck with us and have given us their love and support! And I hope for many many many more shows and even more listeners/followers of Asian Pop Addict!

So, with this I will conclude my essay and go back to watching my WWII programming.

Farewell Mein Lieber Boys and Girls!
