[Blog] Taeyang Wants To Vogue Battle You!

OKAY! Impromptu blog all thanks to shorty a.k.a Taeyang from Big Bang.

Exhibit A, ladies & gentleman...

HE'S BEEN WATCHING VOGUE BATTLE VIDEOS!!!!!

If you don't know what voguing is please, click here and then come back.

As a person who's attended many "Balls" in my day I can tell you first hand that vogue battles are serious business. If you want to vogue battle you better be ready to bring it all out!

Now Taeyang's "drop" is a good newbie drop. Not bad, but not fantastic either.

He needs to add more pzazz and of course he needs to add more hands!

Shorty also needs to master the "duck walk."

But in the end it's all about the "drop." The more dramatic the better!

All of this got me thinking of, what if voguing became a concept in K or J-pop & who would be the voguers??

I want a vogue FEM battle.

This is who we got so far in the vogue fem battle....

Taeyang, Key from SHINee, Heechul from Super Junior, JoKwon from 2AM, Brian Joo, Sungjong from INFINITE, Matsumoto Jun from Arashi, & The Nine Muses back up dancer at 1:50.

Who else can we throw into this vogue battle?? Drop a comment below. Remember it's a FEM battle so they have to fit the bill of a fem vogue battler.

Until my fantasy becomes reality, I'll keep watching my all time vogue fem battle.

Can you imagine that on Inkigayo or a Music Station???

While we wait for that to happen, make sure to help APOPA get their own studio!!! Click here!!!!

[BLOG] BOOM HAH HAH! BOOM HAH!

Annyeong everyone!

Hope that life, work, school and family are doing well. Anyways, I can’t believe that its already been more than a week since our trip to Orlando and I wish I were still there. I can honestly say that I had a really good time away from South Florida and WORK. Even if it was just for the weekend, it felt good to get away from the usual mess you deal with on a daily basis and see something new. I’m actually glad that I pushed myself to go see Miyavi. I find it funny that I enjoyed this performance while last year during his Atlanta visit I was just okay with it. Thank god I got into JROCK when I did! I was jammin! I know that might not seem like such a big deal but to those who know me, you all know that I’m not with the crowd participation.

Anyways, Miyavi had so much energy on stage and the way he interacts with the crowd showed how grateful he was to the fans for their support. His English was honestly adorable although at times it was a little difficult to understand but who cares! I loved meeting a few of the APOPAddicts at the show who turned out to be such cool people.

Thanks to Ani Ceris for hanging out with us! Girl, I’m hoping Miyavi goes back to Japan and tells his PSC boys to come on over. (You know I’m talking about The GazettE). Orlando was pretty, a bit of that Southern hospitality feel to it with the moss hanging off the trees and the big verandas...‘There will be a barbecue at 12 Oaks tonight’. Ana would have loved it! Overall it was a nice weekend and I’m glad I got to share it with Cynth and DoriChan.

RAWR!

[BLOG] Just a few post-Thanksgiving thoughts...By: Betty

Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! I spent my Thanksgiving with my paternal aunts and cousins who cooked up Turkey and some pork. And there is ALWAYS pork served at any family get together. Overall, I had a good Thanksgiving. The only downside was that my sister is in New York. Miss you Steph!

So, I don’t really have much to write about. Because the holiday season is starting I’ve had little time for anything except work, work and work. At the moment, I’m trying to get ready for work on BLACK FRIDAY! I don’t mind working today because I honestly enjoy helping people its the ones with the nasty attitudes that make my job HELL!!! If you know that the stores are going to be Chaotic today and you’re someone with little to no patience then shopping in a crowded mall is not the best thing for you. And I would really appreciate it if you didn’t fling your frustration at me. MILLIONS of people are out shopping today so expect to wait in line for more than five, ten or even fifteen minutes! Look at this, I’m not even at work and already I’m getting irritated just thinking about it. All I can hope for is that I’ll get out of work before four in the morning, LOL. And I’m being serious.

For those who have to work on BLACK FRIDAY and to those who have been up before dawn to be the first few in line...FIGHTING!

I know this was a short blog but I really don’t have much to write about. I did find a new Visual Kei band which will be my fling for some week. I was going to discuss the recent attack by North Korea on South Korea but since we’re still in a festive mood, I decided not to depress you all by going into a deep discussion about it. *My deepest sympathy goes out to the victims of these attacks and their families.

I honestly believe that there will never be peace on the peninsula until the Kim family is removed from their seat of power. When you’ve had absolute power over an entire country for sixty years then its doubtful that Kim Jong Il and his family will give that up easily. Unification is a joke to them. Ah well, hopefully matters can be resolved before any more people are hurt or young soldiers are ordered to defend their borders in battle. I would be glad to hear your opinions on the matter. I think open discussions are a true sign of a free nation. *I sound like such an activist LOL!

Anyways, that’s it! Remember, you can always post a reply or if you’re a more private person then email me or Cyn or Ana. We love to receive emails and messages from you all. And I promise to check my own more often LOL! Well, see you all on Twitter or Livejournal or Facebook.

Oh, and a huge THANK YOU for reading this and listening to the show!!!

[Blog] Atlanta Trip, Day 1 by: Cyn City

I will start off this blog by saying this, DO NOT DRIVE FROM MIAMI TO ATLANTA. IT TAKES TOO LONG!!

I am utterly exhausted from today's drive. The girls and I got on the highway around 630am. We tried not to make too many stops because we didn't want to hit Atlanta afternoon traffic, from what I hear is hell. The first couple of hours went by smoothly but by hour 6 when we left Gainsville, the drive itself turned into pure hell! I love driving and I've even driven to cities like Orlando and Tampa on my own but this....this was no fun drive.

Thank the shisus for Betty because she stayed up to keep me talking because I really felt like falling asleep a few time. We saw a lot of interesting things like this...

[Blog] What About Us Old People? by: Cyn City

So let’s talk about something that bugs me, entertainment companies that put an age restriction on those who audition. I’m sure you’ve heard about the YG audition that’s going on in Korea, New York, & LA. While I was reading the flyer I noticed that for singers the age qualification is 11-19 years old….WTF? I mean I’m pretty damn sure there are plenty of talented singers over the age of 19.

Now, I can understand that being a trainee can take a few years depending on the person and how rough around the edges they are. I also understand that “idol age” is pretty young because they have to cater to a certain demographic but still, that’s discrimination. To be honest not all the idols are THAT talented. I could think of other people who might be better singers or actors.

[Blog] Nonsense by Betty

Annyeonghaseyo,

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. As for me, its been depressing and just disappointing. Now, I know a few others who are in more difficult situations than I am (whether it be work, home or school) and so I would like to apologize if I’m whining but I just felt like venting and also because Cynth has asked me to post a blog, so here goes…

[Blog] TVXQ Is Not Dead... by: Cyn City

Dear TVXQ Fans,

This is your fellow "Cassie" Cyn City speaking. So, I woke up today and find out that TVXQ group activities in Japan are on a "pause". At first I was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" but then I thought about it and said "Why am I so surprised?"

[Blog] Help The People of Haiti! by: Cyn City

On January 12th a 7.0 earthquake hit the island nation of Haiti. The death toll is expected to surpass 100,000 people. There are still many people trapped under the rumble as we speak.

When the earthquake hit I was at work and I didn’t realize how bad it was until I got home late that night and saw the presidential palace in ruins. I thought to myself “If the palace looks like that I can’t imagine what the rest might look like?” it didn’t take long for my question to be answered. In the minutes, hours and days after the earthquake, I was flooded with still images and video from Haiti, of the death and destruction that was left behind. I can’t recall a moment where I didn’t cry from seeing the images. The one that always sticks out in my mind is a photo that was of small babies and toddlers who were dead and people had to stack them on back of a pick up truck in order to clear the roads. That image will never leave my mind, never.

Being Dominican this tragedy hit too close to home for me. My parents were born and raised there and I still have family and friends still there on the island. For those who don’t know, Haiti & Dominican Republic share one big island called “Hispaniola” which was later on divided into two countries. After the earthquake struck I called family in Dominican Republic and was told that the earthquake was so strong that they even felt it thousands of miles away.

We’ve been told that our show helps people escape their daily lives for a few hours and tune in to get some laughs but from time to time we need to make people aware of certain situations like this one. We always come together to help trend our fav artist birthday on twitter or to help each other promote our own sites but this time we in the J-Pop & K-pop communities need to come together and help raise not only awareness but also funds, clothing, food, & supplies for the people of Haiti.

There’s many ways you can help. If you text the word “YELE” to 501501, you automatically donate $5, which will be billed on your next cell phone bill for the Yele foundation which is run by world superstar Wyclef Jean. If you can’t do it by phone than you can visit their site http://www.yele.org/

You can also text the word “HAITI” to 909909, you automatically donate $10, which will be billed on your next cell phone bill for the Red Cross. If you can’t do it by phone than you can visit their site http://www.redcross.org/

Another foundation that I support is “Doctors without Borders” which sends doctors from all over to different parts of the world to help assist those who don’t have much in the way of medical assistants. You can visit them at http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/

I’m sure if you google you will find many other ways to help or donate.

Any little bit helps. I’m sorry for the long rant but this is something that hit too close to home for me and I see friends whom I went to high school with who have lost a lot of family and friends. Some still don’t know where they’re families are.
For those of you who do donate, if you send us the proof via email we will shout out out on the show or even play a song request for you. You can send all proof to asianpopaddict@gmail.com

Thanks

[Blog] Let's talk about Dramas! by: Betty

Annyeong!

Yes Betty is alive and well. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope you all enjoyed this week’s show.
Now, Cyn City has asked that this week I make a post and it can be about any topic that I feel like discussing. So, since a few of my dramas have ended in the past few weeks, most recently, My Fair Lady (Loved it!). I have decided that I will dedicate this post to the Asian Dramas and the actors we fell in love with.

For example, my favorite drama of all time is ‘My Girl’ with Lee Jun Ki and I am currently watching, ‘Temptation of an Angel’, ‘Queen Seon-Deok', ‘Hot Blood’ and 'IRIS'.
Do you remember your very first drama? Do you have a favorite drama? What drama are you currently watching?
Let me know, our taste in dramas might be similar (If you like Lee Jun Ki and super romantic-mushy-crying dramas like me, lol).

You can post videos, pics and what not to show love for your fav drama! Have Fun!
Kimchi kisses,
Betty
Because it wouldn't be Betty's post without a pic of Lee Jun KIIIIIIIII!
I love this careless, rugged look.

For Cyn City, LMAO! (You started it!)

[Blog] PEEN POST!!! by: Ana Pana

IT'S THE RETURN

OF PEEN!!!

IT'S THE RETURN OF PEEN!!!

In a pre-party celebration of good things to come...

Hello Apoptards!

As most of you who've listened to this week's show know, next week will be an all male request special. In order to celebrate the onslaught of the return of men in the K-Pop scene, which started with the return of G Dragon and Taegoon, we've decided to make this mindless perverted thread, because you know, that's how we do.

[Blog] Tribute To MJ, APOPA Style by: Ana Pana

I never blogged about my sadness over MJ's death when it happened. So i decided that this was probably the best way of remembering one of hundreds of good times he provided with his presence when he was still with us, the APOPA w. ay---by highlighting his visit with one of Johnny's fangirls' fav bands: SMAP

The images pretty much speak for themsleves.

Think Shingo was excited enough, lol?
