As we briefly talked about it on our most recent show, Hurricane Sandy hit not only the northeastern states of the US but also several Caribbean islands leaving death & destruction in her path. As we've done in the past with other natural disasters we ask all of you to please donate to your local Red Cross and help them get aid to those affected by the storm. I know it's been kind of quiet around here lately, for that I apologize. As of late I have been going thru some personal issues that have really affected my current mental state of mind. I might go into more detail on the next show but just know that is the reason why we haven't been around lately. I just need some time to focus on me and get my mind back on the right track. It sucks that it affects the show but it wouldn't be fair to you guys if I give you a crappy product. I'm on "happy" pills now so it'll kick in soon then I can move on! lol

[Mod Post] 3 Years Going Strong

3 years ago today, a shade driven, non stop cursing, no holds barred, not giving any fucks, FANTASTIC show started.... ASIAN POP ADDICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

It's our 3rd birthday and we here at APOPA are in amazement that 1, we still have listeners, and 2, that any of you find us entertaining. 

We want to thank all of you for the past 3 amazing years of non stop support. If it wasn't for all of you we would have stopped doing this show a long time ago. 

I know we might have offended you at least once. Or got you mad because we threw some heavy shade on your fav artist. Maybe some of you even stopped listening all together because you thought we sucked. BUT to those who know that we mean no harm, love asian entertainment, shade because we care and love, we thank you for over seeing all of that and continued on listening and supporting us. 

To those who listen to our shows in public and are embarrassed because they are laughing so hard to themselves that people start to stare at them wondering, "WTF is wrong with that person"....thank you. Now stop listening us in libraries, buses, taxis, class, family gatherings etc. We're made to be listened to while you're alone. lol 

Simply again, THANK YOU!

Our next show will be live from our brand new "studio"! The reason we haven't done the show this week is because we're still trying to work out the kinks of the new equipment but come next week we should be good to go. We'll also try to USTREAM it live. [Mod Post] How Many Times Can We Say Thank You? + Survey!

First off, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're so taken aback by the response we received from our donation campaign that no lie, I want to cry tears of joy. Never did we think we would reach our goal, let alone surpass it! We've been on this journey for almost 3 years now and even though we've had a few bumps in the road, I'm proud that we have such awesome listeners who have shown such generosity towards us in our time of "need." lol

All the people who have "perks", such as Music Segments, Host a segment etc. We will start fulfilling on those perks as soon as we get our set up. Which should be soon. *crosses fingers*

We want to pick ya'lls brain for just a second. I've noticed that it takes some people a good couple days or over a week to listen to the latest episodes. We understand that because are shows are hella long. We get it. So we got to thinking, would it be better if we do shows every two weeks instead of every week so that everyone has a chance to listen to the new shows and not feel rushed and/or not listen at all or fall severely behind on new episodes?

We looked into our stats & heard everyone's concern on this issue so we just want to finally get a resolution to this issue. We love you guys & don't want to lose you. SO! Vote below on either, a show every week or every two weeks. 

[Mod] Welp, This May Seem Familiar

So...guess what? Due to a very familiar set of circumstances...there will be no show this week. *dodges tomatoes* Basically, we were unable to use the studio this week. As we've explained on the show, the new studio is not guaranteed to us, and when the employees of the station need the studio, their needs override ours. This is not something that can be controlled by us.

So that brings us back to reminding all of you that this could end if you help our cause and donate in order to help us get a personal studio for the show's needs. A personal studio means no hassle, no hassle means a show can be recorded and put out on time, so if you can spare anything, it would be greatly appreciated by all of us. [Mod Post] Ok, so here we go again with a familiar post...

Unfortunately, it could not be helped. The situation as it is, is that due to yet another unexpected family loss, we could not gather together to do this week's show. We were ready and gearing up to do it, but like with other times in the past, we cannot control what happens in our personal lives and we hope that you can understand once again.

However, there is a bright side, my darlings. This gives us a few extra (and admittedly much needed) days to gather more info for our Flashback: 2008 show. We have gathered, and are still gathering, stories and news from that epic year to contribute to our first flashback show. That means we'll be extending the time for you guys to submit or link to stories or lulzy news that you want us to talk about on the show. So please, keep submitting! Also, a vlog on none other than Mr. Akanishi might be posted later on this week to hold you guys down until the next show. Since it's about him, expect honest-to-god opinions about this man's latest wanksta activities.

Once again, we are sorry for this turn of events and we appreciate your support and love. We'll make sure to give our all for the next show.

[Mod] We Were C*** Blocked!

So we attempted to head into the studio & record this week's show. Unfortunately we were c*** blocked and we couldn't use the studio. *sigh*  I know what you're gonna say... "THAT SUCKS", "NOOOOO" etc. !!!

Anyhoo, we'll attempt again this weekend and hopefully it'll go smoother. Don't worry, we'll be talking about all the drama that happened last week & you'll for sure get our thoughts on it.

[MOD] ChungSung! Sergeant Lee Jun Ki to be discharged from Army on February 16th!!!! Oh yea, there’s no APOPA show this week

So, ladies and gentlemen unfortunately there will not be a show this week due to unforeseen circumstances, mostly due to Cyn getting really sick and the usual daily hassles of work, school and family. Anyways, we will return to the studio this weekend so expect a new show soon! And there might even be a new VLOG by Cyn...directly from the ER!!! With Memorial Hospitals nurses and staff as the special guests!

Anyways, let’s get back to the best news!!! I can’t believe it has been two years since LJK left civilian life and began his mandatory military service duty. I honestly can’t wait to see him back on regular television shows, dramas and movies. I really need an Iljimae 3! Well, that’s it for now. I hope everyone has a good week!

[MOD] So you're probably wondering...

So you're probably wondering where this week's show is. Weeeeell, originally we planned to do our usual weekly thing and have a kick ass 'Cyn's birthday show'. However, it has unexpectedly turned out to be one of those weeks where real life has all of us too individually occupied for us to give our best for a show, with work and family plans needing to be taken care of. So for now, take the time to listen back to some of our older shows, or you can fully turn your attention to flailing over Kai and his backup dancers in EXO. In the end, just be happy that you were probably saved from having to hear "Daite Señorita" again. Until next week!

[MOD] What a week....

OK, well A LOT has happened since last week's show. One of us left a job, one had a death in the family & so on & so on. Needless to say we here at APOPA are having a hella rough week and we're taking this week off to regroup and get our head's back in the game. I'm sure we'll explain more of what's happening on  next week's show.

We also want to apologize for the severe delay of the final nominees for the APOPA awards. I'm working on finalizing the list as we speak and I hope to have it out shortly.

As of right now we do plan to be back on the air next week for the final show of 2011. We'll have tons of prizes to give away that include, posters, signed CD's & APOPA merchandise. [Charity] "Girls Are Not For Sale" Drive

I recently received an email from a friend of mine in NYC who is helping out the organization called "GEMS- Girls Education and Mentoring Services." The organization specifically addresses survivors and victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. This is a huge issue in today's society not only in the United States but all over the world.

We've talked about this subject on the show briefly last week but in order to really understand how bad the situation is and how the GEM organization helps, visit them at http://www.gems-girls.org/
